This seems to be a new trending idea that captures raw & candid material with a very quick turnaround time compared to the photographer and videographers! Photographers normally take about 4-12 weeks for delivery, while content creators normally finish within about 24-48 hours. With this, brides are finding they want to hire BOTH a photographer and content creator to have different perspectives from their special night!

Candid photos have become super popular over the past couple years. There is something special about capturing un-posed moments in real time and we are here for it! As for documentary style photography, this is defined as "The intent of storytelling, as opposed to directing a moment for the benefit of making a photo." Photographers will capture these moments in split seconds, putting together images to create a storyline of your day!

Creative wedding party attire

Florals, prints, mismatched colors... We love it all! This is one of our favorite trends we are seeing more & more in the bridal world. Brides have been loving to play with ideas to mismatch patterns and textures for their bridesmaids, and even in suits! This creates a larger color palette overall and allows you to get creative with your outfits. My personal favorite is a garden party theme with pops of colorful bridesmaids & guests!

We all know a guestbook has been a tradition for many years! Many brides are now looking for unique ways to capture their guests' messages to hold on to forever. A couple ideas we have seen and love are the audio guestbooks & polaroid guestbooks. We definitely think either of these ideas are worth looking into, your guests will love it!

There is no "rulebook". There are no set rules in how you shop, say YES or even how you react to finding your dream dress- Which is the best part! Your experience is unique to YOU, and that is okay! Surprising to some, we actually recommend shopping for your wedding gown at least a year in advance! Our designers work hard to create each and every gown, which takes time! By shopping in advance, this gives us plenty of time to order the dress, schedule alterations and make sure everything is absolutely perfect before your dress leaves our store. When it comes to setting a budget, let your stylist know what you have set to spend. With doing so, your stylist will be able to pre-pull gowns prior to your appointment within your projected price range. We love to have some choices ready for you upon arrival, but do not want to have several dresses above the amount you are looking to spend! It is always a good idea to let your stylist know upon booking your appointment, or as soon as you arrive. We are happy to find you your dream dress within the price range you are comfortable with spending!

The Bridal Experience at DYF

The experience

Here at Dress Your Fancy Bridal Boutique, we take pride in your experience and vision for your wedding day. With that, we have a few steps for you to take prior to your appointment that can help us elevate your time with us even more! Once your appointment is booked, you will receive what we call an "interview".

THE INTERVIEW

This is a "pre-wedding registration" form that is texted directly to your phone and email for your convenience. Our DYF stylists love to be prepared as much as possible prior to our brides coming in, to make the process seamless and easy for you! This questionnaire gives us a glimpse into your style, venue and even your set budget! What this means for our stylists is now we can pull exactly what you are looking for before you even step in our store for your appointment! With 40+ years of collective experience, we are sure to nail down your exact vision.

INSPIRATION

If you have any, feel free to show your stylist any bridal gown inspiration you may have! We love to see your vision whether it is from Pinterest or your favorite blog! Speaking of Pinterest, we have our very own page showcasing a huge selection of inventory you will see right in-store!

THE LOOK

Now the fun part! Now that your stylist has pre-pulled dresses based on your interview, you will get the chance to shop our store to pull any other gowns you would love to try on. We will try on many different styles, even some you may have never picked for yourself! Once we narrow down to about 3 favorites within our selection, we will start to really nail down your final look. We will try on veils and accessories to make it that much easier for you to envision yourself on your wedding day. At this point, you may even say YES to your dress!!

You're engaged! .... now what

Congratulations! All of us here at DYF are so excited for you to begin your journey to your dream wedding! If you are unsure about where to begin, let us make it easier for you. Here you will find a few tips on how to start brainstorming the first steps once you get engaged.

THE VISION

It is time to start thinking about your wedding date! Do you have a favorite season? Do you tend to like warmer weather in the summer months or cooler weather in the fall or winter? Choose a date and time of year that best suits you and your partner. Then, on to the venue!

THE VENUE

Choosing a venue may seem overwhelming at first, but this is the fun part! Are you considering a more industrial feel for your wedding? If so, seek out venues with details such as large windows, artwork, metal fixtures, or even exposed brick. Maybe you are considering a wedding with natural elements? Choose venues with beautiful outdoor spaces such as a garden or on a waterfront! Let this choice be a reflection of your personalities and fit your overall aesthetic.

THE COLORS

After nailing down your overall vibe and venue, choose your colors accordingly! What colors will your bridal party wear? Will you need to take the time of year into consideration when choosing your colors? For example, if you chose a fall wedding, are you going for a darker palette such as burgundy or dark green? If you chose a summer month, will you want your bridal party wearing a lighter palette such as pink or champagne?

We met through a blind date and were together for 23 yrs and he finally proposed! My ring was absolutely beautiful. Dennis wanted to save on the NY Sales tax so he had the jeweler send the rings to his son in Phoenix when they were done. Long story short, by the time the package arrived to Dennis, someone had stolen the engagement ring and wedding band in transit. Someone threw a broken watch in the box to make it seem like something was in it. We were devastated! Everything had to be reordered.

2020 hits and our original date of October 17, 2020 had to be cancelled because of COVID. We don't stay down long though. On October 16, 2021, I finally had my dream wedding and it couldn't have been a more perfect day! Well. minus the fact that it poured all day. But, nothing was going to stop us from becoming husband and wife!

My fiancé (Tyler) and I met back in 2013 at Keystone College. Through a (somewhat) joke, we made a pact to be each other’s valentines for V-Day that year. We ultimately ended up celebrating in April and we had an immediate connection. We started to date in the summer of 2014 and tried long distance which didn’t work out, however, we remained friends (or at least tried). I was getting ready to begin grad school and Tyler was finishing up undergrad, we dated different people for a period of time, and then our paths crossed again in the spring of 2015.

Tyler was in the friend zone (for a while) and was always mistaken as my boyfriend at family dinners (my grandmother treated him as her own and he was always around for the holidays/birthdays/parties). She has since passed but always said that Tyler is the love of my life, which is the absolute truth.

Fast forward to 2017 and I was staying at Tyler’s apartment when I blurted out “I LOVE YOU” .. and here we are!!

Tyler proposed to me in The Finger Lakes on 10/15/21 DURING A TORNADO WARNING! He is my best friend, my soulmate and 100% my better half. I cannot wait to be Mrs. Wilson on 5/19/23.

My bridal gown appointment was absolutely amazing! Allison was wonderful and so helpful! She really listened to my vision(s) and was just overall amazing!!!
